| Our ASA BKB-101 & BCC-103 Wrightsville Beach is an ideal teaching area which includes, The ICW, Motts Channel, Banks Channel, Shinn Creek, Masonboro Island, Masonboro inlet, & Onslow Bay offshore in the Atlantic Ocean. Build your confidence with "Hands-on crew practice" maneuvering in tight quarters using wheel steering & diesel engine with different wind - current conditions. Anchor, pick up mooring buoys and learn to dock professionally without stepping off the boat.. Learn & practice crew positions for all points-of-sail. Tacking, gybing, reefing, heaving-to, (Figure 8 & Quickstop) MOB rescue techniques, and of course Knots and their use. ASA 101 & 103 are 2 day 8am to 5pm classes taught on board II Dolphins. Our ASA BBC-104 Bareboat The 3 day/2 night live aboard class begins by sailing south down the ICW & The Cape Fear River to Southport, NC. We then safely anchor in protected Dutchmann's Creek and barbecue. Day 2 finds us sailing offshore at Cape Fear returning with a stop to Baldhead Island. A Low country shrimp boil provides for a delicious southern supper while dining in the cockpit. Day 3 brings us back to the familiar home waters of Wrightsville Beach and anchoring in Banks Channel by the USCG Station & finishing our course review for the BBC-104 test. | When are classes offered? Sailing begins on March 8 and ends November 16. How do I book a class? 1) Check the 2008 Sailing Calendar for desired dates. Black = open dates Blue = booked 2) Pick out the desired class(s) you are interested in 3) Print out the application and follow the instructions Mailing address is located on top of application 4) Send us an email or call to confirm class dates before mailing in the application. Fax or call with credit cards. 5) (Check or Credit card#) Send in a 50% deposit with the application to lock in the class dates. Balance due on or before class begins 6) Class materials will be mailed out with details regarding what and how to study and when and where to meet on the first day of your class. Minimum of two per class and a 50% deposit to lock in the dates. If you are a single wanting a certain class, we can specify that on the calendar and most of the time find another single and agree on a class date. Full boat discounts of $25 per person / per class will be given to those who fill the boat (4) for a class. |
